Why this policy exists

We want everyone to use AI as much as possible. Clear data rules are what make that safe. This policy tells you which data can go where, so you never have to hesitate.

Data classes

  • Public: any AI tool may be used.
  • Internal: any company-approved AI tool may be used.
  • Confidential and client data: only enterprise AI tools with zero data retention or no-training guarantees.
  • Secrets (passwords, keys, tokens): never pasted into any AI tool.

Controls

  • Single sign-on and audit logging on approved AI platforms.
  • Regular reviews of approved tools and vendor terms.
  • Security training for every new hire, including safe AI usage.
